The Jeep Journals

I left my corporate job on 7/21/17 in order to help showcase Nature for Mother Nature fans online. I did not arrive easily at this decision since my corporate job paid extremely well and included amazing benefits. Alas, the one benefit I was not easily allowed was the time to immediately pursue any and all wild events happening any and all moments of every day throughout the world. I know it would have helped me greatly to see more Nature during the work week, so that is what I’ve set out to bring to you. Stay tuned!

My First 10K!

Monday, November 7, 2022 11:00 AM

Yesterday I completed my first 10k in 1 hour and 47 minutes. That is a pretty slow pace by standard measurements, but it was my first recorded 10k after having completed my first 5k (3.107 miles) in under an hour. I’m preparing for the San Antonio Rock & Roll Marathon’s 10k and today I am going to get some new shoes after all of these running experiences.

I have some super low profile ultra light shoes which might be precisely what I need, but I want to have a backup pair regardless and it is also possible that for my weight I need something with a bit more support. I also already have a heavier shoe made for running/walking some extreme terrain, but that is another story for another day.

It is a gray day here in S.A. and it just rained in our area early this morning. I continue to experience the world in a nature-centric way where I notice fewer and fewer “wild” animals in their appropriate areas and more and more “wild” animals taking from residential offerings in both food sources and habitat. Maybe if you are also running for change we’ll meet up sometime!
